Electrified Info

Electrified Lantern Components

These are the components used in every electrified conversion, whether it be a lantern, sconce, or chandelier. Standard cord length is 7 foot, but more can be provided if needed. The close-up of the candelabra fixture covers show the detail.

Any of my lighting products can be custom electrified, some are easier to convert than others and some hide the electrical wire better than others do.

After you have found the style of lantern you want, you will need to decide how the lantern or other device is to be displayed so that I can ascertain the best way to run the electrical wire.

Sitting on a Table of Shelf

the wire will run out of the back of the lantern near the bottom, usually with a plug on a cord. Options are cord length and whether you need a barrel style switch on the cord to turn it on and off. Installation is easy, add your bulb and plug it in.

Lanterns to be Hung

from the ceiling or a beam will have the wire feeding the lamp run out the top of the device. You will need to decide how much wire you will need so that you can braid it through your chain and allow enough for a qualified installer to directly wire it into a box.

Solid Mounted Lanterns

for use on a wall will have the electrical wire out the back and only long enough to allow a qualified installer to directly wire it into a box that would be controlled by a wall switch.

Electrified Chandeliers

are almost always hardwired into a 4" box and controlled by a single pole switch, and only long enough to allow a qualified installer to directly wire it into a box.
